China Eve

It is 10:45pm as I type this and in 13 hours we will be boarding the plane in Newark for our flight to China! Whew...it's hard to believe we were able to pull off getting everything booked, ready and packed with barely a week's notice.

We are so fortunate to have good friends like Claudia and Melissa who will be arriving at our house for a 6:30am trek to Newark- we are beyond grateful that they are willing to take us to the airport and share the beginning of our journey to bring Audrey home.

We depart at 12:15pm for a direct flight to Beijing. Yes...a direct flight. Don't ask me how they manage the fuel on a 15 hour flight?! We will arrive in Beijing on Saturday at 3pm where we will eventually meet up with the other families in our group of 5 and head to the hotel.

We will spend sunday and monday touring Beijing and likely visit the Great Wall, Forbidden City and other historical sites before we board a plane early Tuesday morning for Guangzhou. We will meet Audrey for the first time at 3pm on Tuesday, March 12...that's 5 days and counting!!!

As soon as we settle into the hotel and are able to get connected, we will post a note letting you know that we have landed safely on Chinese soil. Please pray for our safety and travels.

Madeleine and my mom are off sleeping, the bags are in the car and now it's time for Christian and I to try and get some sleep...

Signing off for the last time in the US!!!

Thank you for allowing me to share your journey to Audrey (and the airport!). It was so fun to share the morning with you, and I look forward to the news as it comes from China.
